Dental Implants
A dental implant is a surgical fixture that connects with the bone of the jaw or skull to support various dental prostheses, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures. Essentially, it acts as an artificial tooth root, offering a stable foundation for replacement teeth.
Implant treatment involves local anesthesia, ensuring patients feel no pain during the procedure. After the anesthesia wears off, mild discomfort may occur temporarily.
In many cases, implant placement can be performed on the same day as tooth extraction, depending on factors like bone structure and infection.
If a specialist dentist determines that a patient's bone structure isn't suitable for implant placement, they may perform bone surgery to ensure treatment success. The current success rate for implant treatments is around 96%.
Implant applications are typically lifelong, but they require completed bone development. As such, the lower age limit is usually 18. However, there is no upper age limit, and implant treatment can be administered to elderly patients.
Implant treatment is suitable for individuals with missing teeth and adequate bone structure to support the implants.
For cases not requiring bone surgery, there's typically a 2-4 month waiting period after implant placement. Following this, the prosthesis is applied within about a week. Two separate one-week visits are usually required for dental implants treatment in Turkiye. This allows for strong fusion between the implant and jawbone, taking approximately 3 months after the first visit. If Bone Grafting or Sinus Lifting operations are necessary, the healing process may extend up to 6 months.
Dental implants; It is a titanium screw that imitates the natural tooth root. It is placed on the jawbone, and at the end of the healing period, a porcelain tooth is placed on top. Implants have been used in dentistry since the 1980s. When there is a missing tooth, it is possible to make porcelain teeth without cutting the teeth in front and behind the gap area. Many of our patients have gotten rid of removable palate prostheses and have fixed porcelain teeth.
It is checked whether the patient has healthy gums and suitable jawbone. Implant treatment can begin for a patient who does not have a systemic obstacle. There is no age limit for implants. It can also be applied to elderly patients. Immediately after tooth extraction, it is checked to see if there is any inflammation in order to perform the implant operation. Otherwise, the application can be started, but if the opposite situation occurs, the inflammation is expected to heal.
The implant operation takes about 10-15 minutes. If the patient does not have a special condition, local anesthesia (the anesthesia used in filling) is preferred. The fusion of the jawbone and the screw is completed within 2-4 months. The stitches must be removed 1 week after the operation. Temporary teeth can be made immediately after the implant operation.
Bone resorption stops in the implant area. This is the most important advantage. In fact, having an implant is an investment in the future. Because serious osteoporosis occurs in dysfunctional bones. Bone resorption always continues under the bridge body and total and removable denture palates.
When making a bridge, the teeth next to the gap area must be cut. Additionally, the teeth are connected to each other in the bridge. When an implant is made, there is no need to cut healthy teeth and most importantly, the teeth can be made one by one (as is natural).
Removable prostheses supported by implant treatment provide the closest function and aesthetics to natural teeth. Thanks to implants, chewing strength and retention of the prosthesis increases.
Chewing strength increases, and digestive problems disappear as foods can be chewed better.
Food tastes better. This feeling is reduced with palate prosthesis. Nerve tissue forms around implants, just like natural teeth. This allows the nutrients to be felt.

Dental Crowns
A dental implant is a surgical fixture that connects with the bone of the jaw or skull to support various dental prostheses, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures. Essentially, it acts as an artificial tooth root, offering a stable foundation for replacement teeth.
Dental crowns typically last between five and 15 years. With proper dental care and regular check-ups, they can last up to 20-25 years.
No, the dentist selects a crown that matches the existing tooth color, making it less noticeable and giving you a natural-looking smile.
Typically, two appointments are required for dental crown treatment. During the first visit, the tooth is prepared, impressions are taken, and a temporary crown is placed. The final crown is fitted during the second visit after removing the temporary one.
While a crowned tooth doesn't require special care, it's important to continue practicing good oral hygiene to protect the underlying tooth from decay or gum disease.
